Prof. Dr. Adnan BAKİ (Moderator)

He graduated from Fatih Education Faculty Mathematics Education Department in 1982, which he entered in 1978. After doing his military service as a commando third lieutenant, he started his academic career as a research assistant in the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science at KTU in 1985. He went abroad for graduate education with YÖK scholarship. He completed his master's degree at the University of New Brunswick, Canada in 1990. He completed his PhD (PhD in Mathematics Education) at the Institute of Education in University of London, in 1994. He became Turkey's first associate professor of mathematics education in 1996 and professor in 2004. During his career, which started at KTU Fatih Faculty of Education in 1995, he held many administrative positions and advised 47 doctorate. He also became the dean of the same faculty between 2010-2013. He is the editor of the Turkish Journal of Mathematics Education, which is indexed in many national and international indexes. Adnan Baki, the founding president and honorary president of mathematics education, works as a faculty member at Fatih Faculty of Education, Trabzon University.
 

Prof. Dr. Alipaşa Ayas completed his undergraduate education at Karadeniz Technical University and his master's degree at Karadeniz Technical University and University of New Brunswick. Prof. Dr. Alipaşa Ayas awarded his doctorate from the University of Southampton, and worked as a faculty member at Fatih Faculty of Education, Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon. Alipaşa Ayas, who is currently a faculty member in Faculty of Education at Bilkent University, has started the accreditation studies in Teacher Education in Turkey and still continues to work as a Member of the Board of Directors within the body of Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Education Faculties Programs.
 

1979 yılının Ocak ayında İzmirde doğdu. Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Buca Eğitim Fakültesi Matematik Öğretmenliğinden 1999 yılında mezun oldu. Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesinde 2001 yılında araştırma görevlisi olarak göreve başladı. 2002 yılında yüksek lisans ve 2006 yılında doktora derecesini Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Matematik Eğitimi alanından aldı. 2012 yılında Üniversiteler Arası Kurulda doçent ünvanını aldı. 2017 yılında profesörlüğünü alan Bukova Güzel’in ilgi ve çalışma alanları arasında, öğretmen eğitimi, matematik eğitimi teorileri ve özellikle matematiksel modelleme ön plana çıkmaktadır. Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Rektör Yardımcısı ve Buca Eğitim Fakültesi Dekan Vekili olarak görev yapmakta olan Bukova Güzel evli ve bir çocuk annesidir.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk ÖZDEMİR

Lisans derecesini 1995 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Fizik bölümünden aldı. 1996-1998 yılları arasında Gebze Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü Fizik Anabilim dalında araştırma görevlisi olarak çalıştı. 1999-2004 yılları arasında Ohio Eyalet Üniversitesi’nde doktora eğitimini tamamladı. 2005yılından itibaren Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaktadır. Fizik eğitimine yönelik öğretim programları ve ders materyallerinin geliştirilmesi, Bilim Merkezleri Eğitim Atölyelerinde Uygulanacak Eğitim Programlarının geliştirilmesi, Özel Yeteneklilere Yönelik Öğretim Programlarının geliştirilmesi gibi MEB ve TÜBİTAK projelerinde yer almıştır. Özel olarak fizik eğitiminde “öğretim yöntemleri” “kavramsal değişim”, “modelleme” ve “düşünce deneyleri” ilgi alanlarıdır.
 

Prof. Dr. Yavuz AKPINAR  (Moderator)
 

After his undergraduate education in the Department of Assessment and Evaluation in Education (TR, Hacettepe University, 1987), Akpınar completed his master's degree and doctorate in the field of Computer Based Learning (UK, Leeds University, 1991; 1994). He studied on computer-based science learning in his master's degree and computer-based mathematics learning in his doctorate. His main research areas are interactive learning environments, multimedia and game-based learning, learning objects, instructional design and learning management systems. He has reported his work in numerous papers, conference proceedings, book authoring and book chapters. He worked as a researcher, consultant and referee in projects within the scope of university-industry and university-public institutions cooperation. He has carried out national and international projects. He has been working at Boğaziçi University since 1995 and has also served in different administrative levels of the university.

Prof. Dr. Yüksel GÖKTAŞ
 

He graduated from the Department  of Computer Education at Gazi University in 1998. He worked as a Computer Teacher in Ministry of National Education and as a technical staff in informatics companies for a while. He completed his master's degree in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies at METU in 2003 and his doctorate in the same department in 2006. Between 2005-2006, he worked as a visiting researcher in the Department of Instructional Technologies at Purdue University, USA. Between 2007 and 2021, he worked as a faculty member at Atatürk University, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies. Prof. Dr. Yüksel Göktaş is currently working as a faculty member and head of the Department of Software Engineering at Atatürk University.
 

Prof. Dr. Kürşat ÇAĞILTAY

Cagiltay graduated from METU Mathematics Department in 1988 as the top of the department, and awarded his master's degree from METU Computer Engineering Department in 1993. Between 1988-1997, he worked as a Computer Networks group manager at METU Computer Center. He was the technical group manager of the Turkey Internet project, which was initiated by ODTÜ-TÜBİTAK in 1990, until 1997. He graduated from the Department of Instructional Technologies and the Cognitive Sciences Program at Indiana University in the USA in 2002 with a double doctorate. Kürşat Çağıltay worked in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies at METU between 2002-2022. He has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering at Sabancı University since 2022.
Founding Turkey's largest Open Course Portal ocw.metu.edu.tr and the mass course platform Bilgeis.net at METU, Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay's academic research interests are educational technologies, human-computer interaction, technology-enriched learning, educational neuroscience, social informatics, performance technologies, and the use of electronic games in education.
 

Prof. Dr. Salih ÇEPNİ  (Moderator)

Graduated from Physics Education program at Karadeniz Technical University in 1986, Prof. Dr. Salih Çepni started to work as a research assistant at the same institution in 1987. In 1988, he was assigned abroad by the Council of Higher Education to complete his master's and doctoral studies. He completed his master's degree in science education from the University of New Brunswick in 1990 and his doctorate in science education from the University of Southampton in 1993. In 1994, he started to work as an assistant professor at KTU Fatih Education Faculty. He became Associate Professor in 1997. Between 1997-1999, he took part in the Council of Higher Education World Bank National Education Development Project. Çepni, who became a professor in 2003, continues to work at Uludağ University Faculty of Education.
 

 

Can AKYOLLU
General Manager of Balat Tan College

A. Can Akyollu was born on January 21, 1980 in Bursa as the second child of educator Ülkü and Şükrü Akyollu. After completing his primary and secondary education in Bursa, he went to America in 1999 to study Software Engineering at Drexel University. After his undergraduate education, he worked as an analyst and senior manager in the leading financial institutions of America for seven years. After returning to Turkey in 2011, he completed the English language education program at Faculty of Education, Uludağ University and worked as a manager, coordinator and school founder at Tan Educational Institutions, respectively. Can Akyollu, who assumed the General Directorate of Tan Schools in 2020, still carries out this task. Akyollu, who has an active role in the education, culture and arts activities of the Turkish Education Foundation, Nazım Hikmet Foundation and Darüşafaka Society, has been a board member of the Turkish Private Schools Association in charge of high school activities since 2021. Akyollu is married and has two children. He speaks English and German.
 

Celal ARSLAN
Head of Arena Educational Institutions

1978 yılında Yozgat Akdağmadeni Uzakçay köyünde doğdu. İlkokulu kendi köyünde, ortaokulu Tokat Yeşilyurt Yunus Emre Ortaokulu’nda, liseyi Akdağmadeni Lisesi’nde tamamladı. 2003 yılında Pamukkale Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. 2007 yılında Uludağ Üniversitesi’nde Yüksek Lisansını tamamladı. 2003 yılından beri özel öğretim kurumlarında rehber öğretmen olarak çalışmaya başlayan Arslan, 2011 yılından itibaren Arena Eğitim Kurumları kurucusu olarak kariyerine devam etmektedir. Rehber Öğretmenlerin öğrencilerini hayatlarına değer katmak için çok önemli bir alan olduğunu düşünen Arslan mezun olan öğrencilerinin mesleğe adım atmasına destek olma konusunda her daim hassas davranıştır. Evli ve iki çocuk babasıdır.
 

Nihat BİNGÖLBALİ
General Manager of Bursa Sınav Educational Institutions

He was born in 1978 in Muş. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Bursa. He graduated from Department of History at Faculty of Literature, Atatürk University in 2002. Since 2002, he has been working in Sınav Education Institutions. He worked as a teacher, administrator and coordinator and is currently the general manager of the institution. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in the Department of Business Administration.
